tv streaming

Postby maesp » 31 May 2006 12:16

Hello i want to set up a tv stream, which should play and stop only when specific programs are on the TV, how can be this done ? Should there be only one schedule for all programs or one schedule for each program or how is this done ?

i've tried to add several lines for one schedule, and the schedule shows only the last entry

is this config example OK?

new tvprogram schedule enabled
setup tvprogram date 2006/05/31-11:15:00
setup tvprogram append control tvkarta play
setup tvprogram date 2006/05/31-12:15:00
setup tvprogram append control tvkarta stop

setup tvprogram date 2006/05/31-14:15:00
setup tvprogram append control tvkarta play
setup tvprogram date 2006/05/31-15:15:00
setup tvprogram append control tvkarta stop

at 11:15 start the stream and 12:15 should stop
at 14:15 again start the stream and 15:15 should stop

but this isn't working, i don't know if this is correct
can someone pls tell me how to set up a time schedule for one or more days ahead ?

The time might be GMT instead of local time (or something like that)

Thanks for the answer. Is this config file written correctly? Is this how vlm scheduling works ? Because if i put more than one date for one schedule into the config file, vlm recognizes only the last date and use that date.

e.g.:

It's 9:00 am and i make a schedlue:

setup myschedule date 2006/06/02-10:15:00
setup myschedule append control video_device play
setup myschedule date 2006/06/02-11:15:00
setup myschedule append control video_device stop

So here the VLM takes only the date 2006/06/02-11:15:00 into account and runs !!! the broadcast from 11:15:00 am, not stopping it
The date 2006/06/02-10:15:00 here is deprecated - dunno why

I made a simple script using 'at' command which runs itself and rewrites the schedule with new data. This is the only way i found out, how to make scheduled broadcasting ...

If there is an easier way to start and stop broadcasting, i would be very grateful if someone can tell me how to do it in VLM

A schedule item can only have one date.
