FTP streaming with UN,PW

Hey
Just wanna ask if it is possible to watch with VLC my FTP stuffs.
As I am now:
user and password set in the menu
Ctrl+S - Network - ftp://myurl:port no./etc.mkv
click on stream -> pops a window:
VLC can't recognize the input's format:
"The format of 'ftp://myurl:port/nfs/F-NFS/Misfits.S01.720p.BluRay.HUN.DD2.0.x264-FredT/Misfits.S01E06.720p.BluRay.HUN.DD2.0.x264-FredT/Misfits.S01E06.720p.BluRay.HUN.DD2.0.x264-FredT.mkv' cannot be detected. Have a look at the log for details."

or if i discheck the transcoding checkbox, it does nothing, gets the file name in the top, but absolutely nothing happens.

VS on my iDevices, AVPlayer - set ftp data, then I can watch anything from the same place (same internet etc)
