Cannot play stream with VLM that I can with GUI

Postby michaeldjcox » 16 Mar 2009 12:03

I am playing with VLM and two streams I know open and play fine from the GUI.

Why does my VLM conf:

Code: Select all

new channel1 broadcast enabled setup channel1 input http://scfire-ntc-aa05.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1074 control channel1 play
work but with

Code: Select all

new channel1 broadcast enabled setup channel1 input http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r2.asx control channel1 play
I get nothing and the log shows:

Code: Select all

There is obviously some option selected by default in the GUI that I am not specifying in the VLM config.

Can anyone help please?

Another clue.

If I replace:

setup channel1 input "http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/listen/live/r1.asx"

with:

setup channel1 input mms://wmlive-acl.bbc.co.uk/wms/bbc_ami/radio1/radio1_bb_live_eq1_sl0?BBC-UID=84193b9f748eea5db8df3d01109065e05ba65b6560e091b4a40fdaf1644d0b87&SSO2-UID=

then it works.

So when setting input in the VLM to the .asx URL we point to a playlist.

And VLM does not appear to look at the playlist and select an entry to play.

Can anyone take me a stage further and suggest a VLM config that will work with the playlist URL?

Please.

Michael

Hi,

I'm having the same problem viewtopic.php?f=13&t=58274

I did search before posting my question but clearly not quite well enough!

I guess maybe the VLM interface doesn't support the same features as the command line.

Cheers,

Lou
