Can't logon with IE8

Hi, All,
I can't logon using IE8 as I keep getting the following message: You don't have permission to access /ucp.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I finally logged on using Google Chrome. I've found a number of references to this problem after searching through the forum, but no replies on how to fix it.
