Https problems accessing forum

Firefox and Chrome are throwing up warnings when one accesses threads via HTTPS.. "The site's security certificate is not trusted!"

Could this perhaps be addressed in an Announcement or some sort of sticky post?

I'm not familiar with the business of certificates, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that. So - no criticism intended - but simply being pointed to the cacert.org website doesn't resolve this for me.

Why, for instance, does the "this site is not trusted" warning come up when responding to e.mails from the site alerting me to an update in a thread I'm monitoring, but not when I come to the site by typing in the URL?

Since VideoLAN is (currently!) the only site I'm having trouble with, it would be helpful if VideoLAN took some part in a solution, wouldn't it?
