Problem with Thunderbird and News-RSS-Feed

Postby KommX » 08 Dec 2008 20:22

Hi,

I've subscribed to the VideoLAN-News-RSS-Feed (in Thunderbird) and have the following problem:
I don't get notification about new posts in this feed. There is no problem with all other RSS feeds. And the first subscription is also without problems. But since then no updates seen.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Could there be a connection to the fact that the news entries have the URL http://www.videolan.org/news.html#news-1 and so on and new posts shift the URLs one index further?

I think that's due to the "dc" namespace for date tag (it is XML based) of the RSS feed. It is compliant to the RSS standard but some RSS readers doesn't fully anderstand RSS standard (and XML in fact).

At least, google reader is know to have difficulties with the feed. You can easily find some posts about it sith the search feature.
