Are there any opinions about this design?

The design is simple and sober ... maybe a bit too simple

Some random thoughs:
I like how you used orange and blue as the main colors.
The menu looks weird... (and takes a bit too much vertical space)
News item titles don't stand out enough (at least on my laptop's screen)
