I like it very much too.
Just 2 little remarks though:
- it's not Documantation but Docum
entation
- the version number is not 0.85 but 0.8.5

Now that I look at the page for some time, I have my 2 cents
Your logo is somewhat without color... Maybe you could try to add more life to your logo? Perhaps add some orange color (VLC color)?
Perhaps if you make main navbar slightly smaller? Try and see how it goes.
As for icons, I would not thouch them at all. Very nice.

Here is a design with a more simple page-header.
Just a note: I know that some will think that the header is dull, or lacks the eye-candy that many designers like so much, but I see VLC as a minimal shell with maximum usability, and I believe it's web site should deliver the same feel.
