My contribution to VLC as a designer

Hey people, don't know if this is the right channel to post but...here we go.

I've been using VLC for over a decade now, and I absolutely love it. I always recommend it to others. As a designer, I’d love to give back to the community that’s supported me all these years.

While browsing the VLC app page on Google Play (I’m on Android), I noticed the app has static screenshots with no added context. These static images might make it harder for new users to understand VLC’s core features and benefits at a glance. First impressions are crucial; visitors need to quickly see the app’s value or unique feature.

To address this, I created screenshot mockups that highlight the app’s key features, capabilities, look & feel, and overall UX. I believe these enhanced visuals could give potential users a clearer picture of VLC’s value.
Here is the re-design of current screenshots I made : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions :D

I designed for both mobile and tablet views, though I haven’t created TV layouts yet.
I designed it using Figma and I've followed these guidelines : https://support.google.com/googleplay/a ... creenshots

Thank you!! :D
