I can access the main page and forum obviously however for some odd reason I cannot access the download for the new .20 release and VLC constantly bugs me to update. I cant access it on any computer in my household with a vpn or not. its really odd

hostname still doesn't resolve

Are you saying you can't download the installer using these URLs ? :
