Trac account problems

Hi,
sorry if this is not the correct thread, but I wasn't able to find anything more suitable. I wanted to report some bugs through the Trac (https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/), but my credentials magically stopped working.
Login:
Invalid username or password
I am pretty sure that both are valid.
Reset password:
Email and username must match a known account
I am pretty sure it matches.
Register new account:
The email address specified is already in use. Please specify a different one.
Could anybody initiate the password reset for me? It would be really appreciated. Registered e-mail address:
jskarvad@redhat.com
thanks & regards
Jaroslav
P.S.: The Trac is pretty slow, it takes minute or so to react, sometimes it returns 504 gateway timeout error.

You need to create a new account for the Trac, your forum account won't work.
Register new account:
The email address specified is already in use. Please specify a different one.
Just do that too.

I'm having the same issue. For sure it's a trac account (i.e. I'm not trying to login to trac with a forum account - I've reported bugs on the trac in the past). It loads for several minutes, usually giving 504 gateway timeout. When it doesn't:
*Trying to login says "Invalid username or password" (for sure it isn't - they're stored in a password manager)
*Trying to re-register says "The email address specified is already in use" (as expected)
*Trying to recover forgotten password says "Email and username must match a known account."
So it seems there's nothing I can do. Can't login with what I know to be the right credentials, can't reset the credentials, can't re-register.

I have exactly the same problem with my Trac account. I also have stored my credentials in a password manager.
I haven't used the account for some time, maybe that's a reason?
The Login page is very slow for me, too.

I just reported that Tarc is obviously broken:

Yes, same here. It's taking AGES.

I'm wondering if it's possible for an admin to trigger manually the password reset function for all affected users.
If yes, it would be a good workaround for now, I think?

Has anybody got a fix for this please?
I was checking through my passwords looking any entries using an old compromised password and realised my VLC forum and trac passwords were needing to be changed. Changed my forum one OK, but my trac one refuses to either let me log in or reset.

I have same problem. I am sure that both username and email address are valid because they have been entered in lastpass password manager many years ago. Given others have reported this issue, does anyone have more information - was there a data breach or was it related to using yahoo open id (perhaps it used to be login option for trac)?
Trying to login I get: "Invalid username or password"
Trying to reset password message: "Email and username must match a known account"
Someone must be able to do a password reset given a correct email address. The login page is really slow as well (over 30 seconds to load). No I am not using my forum user/password trying to login to trac.videolan.org. I am sure it matches and given others have reported this issue. Please tell me who I can contact to fix this.

You need to create a NEW account for the Trac.
Your forum account will NOT work on the Trac.

Are you saying you cannot register on forum with your email address and then register an account on trac with the same email address because that contradicts the error message. You realise Trac registration reports already registered under that email address AND PREVENTS you re-creating your account with that email address, so that is what people are complaining about. Every other system I have encountered requires JUST email to do a password reset. Knowing username + email for reset is just bad idea especially if you do not provide any contact to help people and it does not work.
Trac account inaccessible

Hi,
I cannot login to my trac account:
- I still have my "Trac email verification for user: bers", which was sent to
bers@somedomain.com
- Logging in with my saved password fails ("Invalid username or password")
- Resetting the password for bers with
bers@somedomain.com fails ("Warning: Email and username must match a known account.")
- Registering a new account with
bers@somedomain.com fails (Warning: The email address specified is already in use. Please specify a different one.")
What can I do? I have a video file that crashes reproducibly, and I would like to report that as a bug.

Some more context since this post was moved here:
- I had stored my password in a manager.
- I have reported bugs on Trac in the past.
- I am aware that a Trac account is not the forum account (which should not matter: I registered this forum account solely for this post).
- I might register again (which works), but I'd like to use my old account to have all bug reports in one place.
By the way, I have emailed the offending video file (<1 MB) to
security@videolan.org

Since this problem has existed for almost half a year now, and been seen by at least 8 different users, I wonder if
1. this a general problem that tells us VLC trac is not actively used any longer, or
2. this is an individual problem that is resolved on a case-by-case basis.
@yarda, @metal450, @da2424, @AdamKlob, @fkbreitl, @sgparry, @SkipR, has your issue been resolved at point?

Trac is broken, even developers get their password unrecronized if they try to login once from a different laptop.
The only way to unlock is to request password change through "lost password".

There's no .com for that account.
is user "bers" email "bers@???.net" same for trac ?

Your account address is on ???????@hotmail.com here. Same for trac ?

Good to know, thanks!

I see. That is not working, however, even with correct user name and email.
is user "bers" email "bers@???.net" same for trac ?
Yes, it is. I over-eagerly replaced "???.net" by "somedomain.com".

No, it still doesn't work for me.
I'm wondering if this workaround is "recommended":

Just for those people who did not check out the other thread yet, there's a trac bug for this now:
