Extra "Notifications" column in User board preferences

Postby FeRDNYC » 05 Mar 2018 15:11

In User Control Panel → Board preferences → Edit notification options, the system is currently displaying three columns of checkboxes, "Notifications", "Email", and "Notifications" (yes, again).

From testing, it appears that the third column (the second "Notifications" is erroneous/non-functional, as any of those boxes you check will be lost when you hit "Submit". So, it's purely a display issue... but it is rather confusing, and based on some older screenshots that users had posted in this forum I get the impression that it's a relatively recent thing to have cropped up.

I get that, but someone at videolan.org installed and configured it, right? That column doesn't show up on phpBB's own support forums, so it must be some local setting or modification that's causing it.

If I were to report it to the phpBB developers, they'd reasonably advise me to "tell whoever runs forum.videolan.org to fix their configuration." (And it's not like I could even supply them with the necessary info to debug the issue, as I'm not the phpBB user and have no visibility into how it's set up locally.)
