One of the changes proposed here will also make the changelog more easily findable.
There's basically some suggestions I have for streamlining the aesthetics, readability, and navigability of some aspects of the website – all achieved through modifications to the Download page. These came up largely in part because I found myself completely lost for 10 mins in trying to find the changelog, and then I couldn't find it again a short while after I finally found it. In the process it also came to me that some of the organization and layout of the website and it's affiliated subdomains (eg planet.videolan.org) weren't structured the best and were sometimes seemingly nonsensical, such as the Release pages that were only found in the News section of the site, and were otherwise inaccessible from the Downloads section of the site, which is where you'd expect to be able to find such a thing of all places. The flow from the main site to Planet VideoLAN too, for example; I don't even know where to find that thing again as a matter of fact.
I know I'm not the best at explaining things, but I hope I got the message across here.
Here's a mockup of the improvements I'm proposing. Should be pretty self-explanatory, so I won't write more walls of text here.
Please state if you approve of or disagree with it! Ask for further elaboration on any of my points if necessary, I'd be happy to reply.
