Cannot login or search or register on the forum

Hi!

I'm currently logged from another IP not the one I usually have at home or work. If I try to login or search or register from my IP (84.20.77.3) I get this page

I checked and my Ip is not blacklisted and no help from irc...

Actually when I check at the following link it shows your IP address on quite a few blacklists.

I am able to log in via my PC (using Pale Moon), but when I try to log in via my tablet (Nexus 7) using Chrome, I get :

No route found for "GET /ucp.php"

I just tried Firefox on the tablet, got same result.

FWIW, my PC is connected via dialup modem (I live in flyover country, The Land that Broadband Forgot), and my tablet is using ATT wireless, via prepaid SIM (Straight Talk).

The no route error has happened to me before, mostly on when connection speeds have been low. Perhaps the packet timing is very sensitive, but my ISP has been painfully slow before (promised at least 8Mbps and some nights I was lucky to get more than 150Kbps), so maybe the packet delivery times out on slow connections? As I am not an admin, I can only speculate, but other servers I have been on have failed to login on a slow connection before. If possible, try running ping and traceroute to the forum IP, it may not necessarily be packet timeouts (as ping would indicate), but it could just as well be another point along the connection line (your connection may be routed through as many as 50 gateways). Perhaps the admins know more, but either way, it would be interesting to know where your failure is occuring.

Update 2016:

This has something to do with you IP or IP BLOCK being banned or black-listed.
Same thing happening to me right now but works via VPN.
I'm using google for DNS on the banned version so not sure if it's google or VLC blocking this without looking at their code as there's the possibility to login is calling a server that google may be blocking.
VLC is the ONLY site I've ever experienced this on.

Hi! In these days, I'm experiencing the same problem: when I try to login, I get: No route found for "GET /ucp.php"
It seems an IP problem, since now I'm connected through proxy server.

From what I understand it is down to blocks of IPs being blocked. I experience this myself when roaming between coffee shops. Some places just don't connect, while others do. One of the challenges with running a forum is trying to keep the spammers at bay, but in doing do there is some collateral behaviour. There is no perfect solution yet.

Admittedly a better error message could be better, but that is something for the future.

It sounds like you have been blocked by the system or the administration. I would advise you to contact them maybe they will restore your account

No. It seems that they've blocked whole IP range from my ISP. I'm typing this from mobile data provider. I'm currently on work, with same ISP as I have at home and I still cannot login.
This really needs to stop. Either they make better spam protection for forum, or just leave it unblocked.
