Porting VLC to symbian.

Postby pravish » 28 Mar 2008 17:04

Hi there
I have set out to port VLC on symbian. Guys I need ur help. A lot of limitations from the symbian environment has made me come here and ask for assistance. I am a rookie with symbian but have gathered some knwledge in it. I need ur help in understanding the VLC code structure. The major problem I am facing now is that Symbian doesnt support Signals and VLC is based on signals. I suppose a lot of VLC functionalities will hv to be truncated to make this project feasible. I feel I should first achieve the core functionality of playing media files(mp4, ACC etc) and then take care of other utilities of streaming etc. I need to know which are the major functions that d decode the files and output the media content. Kindly guide me!!

Thanks
regards

Ask pdherbemont or sam on IRC to help you. They already made most of the porT.
