No broadcast with VideoLan ?

I've already installed VLC (latest version) but, I cant' to watch any live webcast with this programme while I can with Windows Media player and Realplayer ? what's the wrong ?
I'm behind a proxy server, nevertheles, all media and sounds programmes function though ...

Have you any suggestions ?

my guess is that you're trying to watch wmv3 or rv10 streams which VLC can't decode since no open source decoder exists.
