How do I hard set VLC to use IGMP v3?

Postby ddicosmo » 01 Jun 2005 22:52

Does anyone know how I hard set (force) my VLC Player to use IGMP v3? I'm trying to test IGMP v3 and I can't seem to find out how to force VLC to use IGMP v3 Exclude (Join) and Include (Leave) when Joining and Leaving a video stream. It seems to always use IGMP v2. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Dave.

VLC will use IGMPv3 if your OS supports it (only WinXP SP2 and linux support it properly) and if all the equipment (routers/firewalls etc) within your network also support IGMPv3. The OS determines if it's proper to use IGMPv3 and will switch VLC back to IGMPv2 if v3 is not possible.

OSX doesn't support IGMPv3 at all.
Don't use PMs for support questions.
