problem with spdif

Postby REMslug » 09 Apr 2005 06:31

hello, I'm having problems with my spdif out in VLC :
I have a sound blaster audigy2 zs, I checked 'use spdif out when available' in the audio setup. When I play a movie with ac3 track, my receiver detects dolby digital but the stream is all messed up : the output works for a second then doesn't work anymore, then works again, etc ... My spdif output is well configured in my sound card driver since it works perfectly with other software. I tried to decode ac3 with my card and use the analog out and it works but sound sucks (I have really cheap connections). I did'nt try with dts so I don't know if it does the same thing ...

Anyone has an idea ???
thanks for your help.

BTW, I forgot to tell : I run VLC on WinXP SP2.

It seems to be a problem with Creative Audigy 2 cards, I've got the same problem. Please fix this bug! :)
