Anyone can make a lot of claims for vaporware but shouldn't they have been required to produce a program that doesn't crash all the time before they got an award?

There are thousands of happy VLC users. If it doesn't work for you, either it's a bug (in this case, please help us to spot it) or it's a problem which is unrelated to our code.

In any case, technical cooperation is usually much more effective than flamebaits, believe me.

One other thing, shouldn't a program that claims to be for STREAMING Video have some way to INPUT the STREAMING Video? All VLC can do is play a file, there's no provision for any LIVE Streaming!
I still think any awards are quite premature.

May I advice you really read the documentation before posting your comments?

It is perfectly possible to stream:
  • Files on a disk
  • DVDs
  • Received network streams
  • Live acquisition (DirectShow or v4l)
