Sound cards selection

Postby sjesman » 13 Feb 2005 21:05

Hi,

I am new vlc user. Trying the player on windows xp.
I have build a new box running dual nVidia pci-e cards ( 6800 GT ).
It is configured with 4 monitors and it works fine.
This way I can play 4 different vlc players on 4 different monitors.
I have also 3 different sound cards. One build in the mother board and
2 pci sound blasters.
Windowz can set only one sound card as default. All three are working,
but not at the same card.
My question is, if it is possible to set (choose) sound output card for each
instance of vlc player ?
I know it is possible on Linux on ALSA (to play audio on different audio devices)
I didn't dive to the source code yet ...
Hoping to hear good news for windowz ...

Stan

For output, VLC tracks whatever you have set for Windows overall, I believe.
