SPACE dont't stop the DVD !!

Well, I've got a special problem.

I'd like to watch DVDs in English with subtitles. Cause I've have to improve my English. As you can see

So I want to stop the movie and sometimes I have to look in my dictionary.

The problem is that after pressing the SPACE BAR the movie stops, but the subtitel vanishes. It would be great if the subtitle would stay on the screen. So I could have the chance to find the right translation.

Is this a bug or is this a feature?

Is there a workaround?

Well this isn't currently possible.

I wouldn't qualify this as a bug, it's just the way subtitles have been implemented (they expire after a certain amount of time).

It would certainly be worth changing this behaviour so the subtitles can be paused but I guess it isn't a high priority (and is not a trivial change either).
