access file error

I just downloaded vlc fro mac os 10.3.7. every time i try to view a partially downloaded .avi i get this message "access_file: seeking too far"
It doesn't appear to affect my video at all. If anyone knows how to stop or fix this very annoying error please tell me. thnks ^^

It's because the avi is telling vlc that certain points of your movie are supposed to be their, but when VLC reads at that point, it finds nothing. In other words the movie is broken (which it is, since it's only partially downloaded).
