Bad Sound

I am experiencing bad sound with this program. Avi's with clear sound in other programs are producing bad sound in this. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Please give more details

* OS
* Hardware configuration
* VLC version
* What is bad sound exactly (pitching up and down ? choppy ? ...)
* Do you experience this with all type of files ?

Try updating your audio card drivers if they aren't up-to-date
Also, try increasing the priority of the VLC process (Preferences/General/Miscellaneous)
