VLC stream recording....

Postby seboyd2000 » 27 Dec 2003 02:54

I was wondering if a record button could be put on the interface to allow instant recording of stream imput. I see that VideoLan has recording capabilities, providing you set it up in the beginning of a stream, but putting a record button on the Player button panel to allow instance recording to a preselected folder location would be super.

Definitely, it could.

As many users request this feature, it will probably be added soon

I fully support this idea:lol:

Some features could be nice in this respect:

- immediate recording to default folder/file, that is in this case
no folder or filename would be needed, the file would
just get name e.g. by date or channel. This would enable very fast
start of recording. Of course recording to specific folder/file would also
be possible as another option

- cutting the recorded file at specified point. E.g. video clip is recorded
and then after playing back can be cut exactly at the end. This would
enable to cut out video clips wanted and remove unwanted ones

- recording with timer for start/stop
