How to implement RTCP in VideoLAN?

As i know, VideoLAN is not support RTCP at present.
Simply VideoLAN send/receives RTP packets. right?

Is any related work about this?
I'd like to use RTCP features. But I don't know how to do.
At first, how to extends VideoLAN that enabled RTCP features?

VLC supports RTCP when acting as a client, and playing a rtsp handled stream, or playing from a sdp file.
