iTunes M4p Playback Failure: drms_init( priv ) failed

I am trying to play iTunes M4P files in order to generate the access code.

I have downloaded the latest Windows nightly build (vlc-0.7.2-test1) and bought an iTunes song this A.M. (just to make sure I'm not running into an "old encryption key" problem).

The symptom is the usual "no sound when playing file", which I get for all the m4p files I have, new and old.

In the message log I get this message:

mp4 error: drms_init( priv ) failed

I'm not sure what other messages are relevant and didn't want to post a huge traceback.

Since others have reported that using a recent build just works on Windows I'm wondering what my issue might be--I'm a new VLC user but I have the capability to compile the source code or assist in code-level debugging if necessary.
