MythTV Reduex

Postby HaaRviK » 08 Apr 2004 04:58

Ok, I have been fighting with VLC and VLS for over 3 weeks now trying to get a workable Linux solution. As far as I can see, if you want anything other than recorded stuff, it just doesn't work in Linux due to the PVR driver support. Yes, I can get my PVR-250 working just fine, but VLC won't play nice with it so I have to use windows for live stuff, or am I mistaken and there's some secret hidden way of making it work?

I have looked at other projects such as MythTV and Freevo. Has anyone done this type of scenerio with VLC? It would seem to me that for as long as VLC has been around, someone somewhere would have already thought to do this. When VLC does work, it is far superior to those programs and more effecient at streaming the media. I have googled myself to death and can find no project out there that equals MythTV and the like using VLC or VLS as the transport mechanism.

If anyone knows of such a beast, how about posting it?

Tom
