Live Multicasting with VideoLAN

I work for a company, which needs the ability to live multicast? I know we're planning on using an codec to convert to MP4, but will VideoLan allow me to Multicast the Mp4 signal live, under windows?

should be ok, if you find a way to feed the stream into VLC (on linux, works well with pipes, fifos, etc...
