I want to be a developer

Hello boys:
I'm a spanish student of computer science, but I'm in the second curse (in spanish it's duration is 5 years). I know ADA (an evolution of PASCAL, I love this language) and HASKELL (an evolution of LISP) and a little of C (I need to do a shell for one asignature) and a little of LINUX (I had a DEBIAN, a RH9.0 and I have a Knoppix).
I want to learn C and help VLC. If someone can teach me, I'll do some work of the development of a part of VLC.
I know english very bad, sorry. If someone spanish developer can teach me, it'll be better.

There is some documentation available here:
http://developers.videolan.org/vlc/
Some of it is outdated but it should be a pretty good start anyway.

If you want to contribute to VLC, you can pick up on any thing you feel VLC is lacking and you would like to work on...
If you don't have any idea, we badly miss some GUI programmers
(although GUIs usually require some C++ knowledge... but not very deep).
