But can it be cross-compiled for embedded linux on SitSang Platform? Or does the code have to be modified before doing it :?:

I don't know what the SitSang platform is, but vlc code is in general very portable and should compile on many different platforms. I know for certain that vlc can be crosscompiled for embedded linux on iPaq and Yopy platforms. I suggest you try, and just ask if you run into problems.

When I think of it, someone has also used vlc in a embedded linux on a hotair balloon once, so the oportunities are large
