noob ogm question...

I have some OGM media files I view on my computer and would like to burn them into a (S)VCD format. I just dont know where to start. I use VideoLAN to view them, but would it convert to the video format I need or do I need a diffrent program. If I need another program, what is it called.

I hope this question is appropiate for this form. if not I am sorry, its just the only place I could think on going to.
