Problems installing rpm's on fedora 3

Postby Snablen » 07 Jul 2005 13:58

Hi all,

Now I've been trying to install VLC for some time, but without luck, hope someone can help.

I'm runing Fedora Core 3, and I've downloaded the lates rpm's from this homepage (both binaries, devel and source), unpacked it in the same lib. When I do a rpm -U vlc/* --force, I get a range of failed dependencies, which I don't really get.
Among others it seems to think that I lack gtk+-devel, eventhough I know that gtk2+ are installed (incl. devel). Can it really be true, that i need to downgrade?

this is the errors I get:
Failed dependencies:
libcdio.so.0 is needed by cdinfo-0.71-0.i386
libiso9660.so.2 is needed by cdinfo-0.71-0.i386

Really hope someone can help me in the right direction...
