subtitles

Postby RbR » 03 Apr 2004 19:00

I have a MPEG movie and separate .srt subtitles
However, movie is splitted up in 2 parts, while srt is not. So srt is longer then first movie-part.
Movie-part 1 and .srt have the same name. VLC gives the options to show or de-activate sub-title

Using vlc 0.7.1
w2k, SP4

The problem is that the sub-titles are never showing. Tried a couple of options

Where should the subtitles appear? I assume in the window where the video is shown?

The debug-windows states:

main debug: using decoder module "subsdec"

Then I get some blue lines:

main debug: using decoder module "subsdec"
main debug: thread 3976 (decoder) created at priority 0 (src/input/input_dec.c:153)
main debug: decoded 107/107 pictures
main debug: decoded 106/106 pictures
main debug: stream periodicity changed from P[5] to P[2]
main warning: output date isn't PTS date, requesting resampling (-40160)
main warning: buffer is 40156 in advance, triggering downsampling
main debug: stream periodicity changed from P[2] to P[5]
main debug: decoded 114/114 pictures
main debug: stream periodicity changed from P[5] to P[2]
main debug: stream periodicity changed from P[2] to P[5]
main warning: resampling stopped after 4252378 usec
main debug: cmd=state old=1 new=2
main debug: toggling pause
main debug: stream periodicity changed from P[5] to P[1]

I'm doing something wrong?
Must the movie be the same length as srt?
