hello!

I want to get best solution from here.
I have a G5 and want to see avi.file.
I installed VideoLan. When I opene some file by VLC, always pop up the error box's message like "coreaudio: failed to set buffer size: [nope]"
Also, sound doesn't come out . So, I checked my system preference.the only thing, after open the VLC, it always turns to digital out of sound. It chages my computer's sound is non-active.
I have no idea, and it drives me crazy...
Please, let me know the solution as soon as possible.

I'm having the same problem on my G5. I'm trying to play an AVI file, which used to play without any problems, but i'm getting the same error:

coreaudio: failed to set buffer size: [nope]

The video plays, but the sound is muted.

I got this error only on G5 not on G4:
