I've got a problem w/VL and it's killing me!

Every time I try to play these "mp 43" .avi movies with the videoLan player it plays 'em for abuout 5 seconds.. it's the same with divX player. Other media players won't play them.
Please help me! i've been trying to get them to work for a few days now..
know whats wrong? what should i do?

Hum, sorry for the delay

Could you send us the VLC log (open the "Messages" Window, from the View menu, and click once more on Play) ?

If these files are not too big, could you upload one to ftp://ftp.videolan.org/incoming so we can test and try to see where the problem is ?
