strange message

I THERE, IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME.....I TRY TO OPEN A FILE .AVI AND VLC TOLD ME: "main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `IV50'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format."
WHAT CAN I DO?....

I've allways wondered what part of that message is so very hard to understand.

It means exactly that what it says. It's video in IV50 and VLC is not able to handle that. There is nothing you can do, but use Windows and Media Player to play the file.
