Changing zones

Postby Star88 » 14 Jul 2005 04:12

I have used VideoLAN for some time now with Microsoft XP, and have appreciated the service that I have received. I recently began to migrate to Xandros, a Debian Lynux package. I downloaded VideoLAN for the Debian package, and it works fine with the videos from the states, however the videos from zone 4 will not play. I downloaded both url's

deb http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sarge main
deb-src http://download.videolan.org/pub/videolan/debian sarge main

How do I play all the DVD's that I have using the player that was designed to do so?

Thanks,

notorius

afaik its an issue by the OS and/or your DVD-Drive. I'm sure there is a tool from your manufacturer to change the region-code of your drive.

Although you can change it (legally) only 5 times, then the last state will be locked on your drive.

you need to have libdvbcss installed in order to play DVDs from all regions
