Video Wall Issue using 3 columns and 1 row.

Postby tsugantino » 07 Jul 2005 17:51

When using VideoLan version 8.2, I notice I cannot successfully get the video wall filter to utilize 3 columns by 1 row. An earlier version (v8.1) seems to do this just fine.

Normally what goes wrong is I get one video window with the video impage displayed twice going horizontally.

These are my current machine specs:

Asus P4T800C Pentium 4 3.4ghz with 2gb Memory
2 250gb SATA HDDs
ATI Radeon x800 XL AGP (256mb) – Using Catalyst v5.6
ATI Radeon 9200 PCI (128mb) – Using Catalyst v5.6
ATI TV Wonder Pro – Using MMC v9.08
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum
Windows XP Pro w/ SP2

0.8.2 kind of changed the behavior of the wall filter. It now features an aspect ratio option for the wall windows. If the aspect ratio and number of rows and columns are mathematically uncompatible, it is known to fail. you could try with 2x2 walls to see that the wall filter does work and then try changing the wall aspect ratio param in the prefs.

dionoea,

Thanks for the idea, I didn't think of that before. I remember there being another aspect ratio for video wall now that I think of it. I'll see if I can strike a lucky combination with it.

Thanks again!

It's not working out.

What I'm trying to do is span the entire image across all three video windows (using video wall) so very little black space is seen. Is there another setting other than aspect-ratio I can use? In verison 8.1 I could accomplish this by setting the aspect-ratio to 11.5:3.

Thanks.
