Hi,
I'm sorry if I don't have much of a clue, but I hope you can set me straight on a few things. (I have read as much documentation as I can understand)
I am a web-designer and a client has asked me to look at putting live streaming video (music performances) on a website. This is quite low budget.
1. Is VideoLAN the way to go for this? It wouls seem to be, but then I am easily confused.
2. How would I get the stream to the website (I understand the player will encode the stream, but nothing after that)? Can this be don't on a standard LAMP shared host? or would we need a dedicated host?
Please help - the alternative is to use a horribly tacky java-applet based solution.
Thanks for your time and patience,
Ed
