Strange menus

[Confused]

Hi I just download the last version of vlc 0.8.1337 version for Windows.

When it comes up I was expecting English. My menus look like the Windows screen shots. Instead of the word file at the top it says, fi13.

Am I doing some wrong the Windows preview look strange as well and is the same thing I see. How do I fix this. Is some find of April fools joke?

Yes, this was a very bad joke in very bad taste. Be glad you weren't trying to set things up that day, the documentation on the site was unavailable because many businesses and universities were grabbing the upgrade only to find out that they just got shot in the foot. Needless to say, lots of unhappy users, and with the bandwidth sucked dry... wellllll....

But things should be back to normal. They need to UNannounce the "new version" though so people don't keep thinking there was a new version.
