How to auto play a DVD in W2K?

I'd like VLC to start playing a DVD movied when it's loaded. I currently get a message "There is no Windows 2000 compatible decoder installed...". I can start VLC and open the disc and play the video (home video burned with Studio 8 ) ok.

The same steps, registry entries, should apply for Win2K.

I'm not positive, but that may now be in the auto-installer (the ability to choose autoplay).
