Q. about hotkey cmdline syntax - probably a newby error !

Postby Jo Wolf » 17 Mar 2005 15:59

Hi,

I'm trying to set the hotkeys for backwards & forwards 10 seconds using the cmdline

vlc --key-jump-10sec 'z' --key-jump+10sec 'x'

but it doesn't seem to work (when playing a video, I get a 'boing' whenever I press either z or x) - I have tried other keys with not success either !

I am selecting the video to play from within the GUI, and I am running on XP sp1

Any help gratefully received

BTW, I've just tried the

vlc --key-jump-10sec='z' --key-jump+10sec='x'

for windows users, but to no avail either

Yet more info - using double quotes, rather than single quotes, works !!

i.e. vlc --key-jump-10sec="z" --key-jump+10sec="x"

Jo

Now, does anyone know the codes for the left and right navigation arrows on a std PC keyboards (to use instead of z & x) ?

Hey

Have a look to your vlcrc file. So you can see what VLC uses.
