i have a question about the video playback of VideoLan...
the first time i heard of VideoLan was when v 0.7.1 was the latest version..
i installed it and used it in order to watch .part files containing videos which were still in d/l progress by "eMule"... once i open the video with VLC i was not able to move the progress bar of the video playback, once i tried it, nothing happened (that was not the problem... that was ok by me) and when the playback got to a part of the file that was missing it skipped to next playable section of the file and thus i was able to watch the video from start to end while skipped immediately from the missing parts to the playable ones.... that was great and thats what i needed... however when version 0.7.2 was out and i installed it what happend was as follows :
i was able to move the progress bar manually and skip to a part of the video which was there and watch it... if i got to a part of the file which was not there i saw a frozen frame from the file and i could see the time counter advance and when it got to a part of the file that was playable it started the normal playback until it got to another unplayable part of the file... of course that happend not only while moving the prograss bar... in fact whenever i opend a new .part file it froze when in got to a missing part instead of just skipping it and showing the next playable part...
nothing i tried to do work in order to fix the problem...
i tried uninstalling v0.7.2 and using hte 0.7.1 which was still installed on my computer... i tried uninstalling both of the versions and reinstalling only 0.7.1 which at first worked as i needed...
btw its a windows xp pro system... i hope someone has a solution for me ...
to make a long story short...
all i need is to view a .part file and that VLC would skip the missing parts of it instead of freezing the picture and waiting for the real-time playback to get to the part which is playable...
i thank anyone that can help me with that in advance
