Matroska Problems

Postby Summer » 06 Dec 2003 21:15

hello. my friends and I cannot get .mkvs to play on videolan osX. It says it does not have the proper compressor, but on the "features" list, it says that they should play.
any help would be appreciated

What codecs are the movies compressed with?
Matroska is only an container, so you need the apropriate decoder to play the movies..

... I'm not entirely sure. it just keeps giving me an error screen with this in it: (mkv: cannot load cues (broken seekhead or file)
vorbis: This bitstream does not contain Vorbis audio data) and I know that the file played fine two days ago for someone else...

I also have this problem. My file plays for about five seconds in MPlayer but not at all in VLC-0.6.2 and -0.7.0.
"mkv: cannot load cues (broken seekhead or file)"
The file is a .mkv in DivX-format with AC3-audio.

try the new test version: http://www.videolan.org/pub/testing/vlc-0.7.0-test2/

Binaries for all platforms will be available shortly.
And please point us to one of these files when they are still not working.

that didn't help much.. especially when I don't know how to use it. I use Mac OS X Panther and I guess that those files are for windows.
But thanks anyway =)

I told you: "Binaries for all platforms will be available shortly."
The MacOSX binary is now available at that link.
