is anyone still working on the Projekt?

Hi there,

since a while now VLC cant playback AC3 through spdif.. I was curious if anyone is still working on the projekt? cus that is quite annoying to say the least.. VLC is the BEST player ever I love VLC and props to the creators.. but that ac3 thing needs fixing asap imo

then ppl always answer: yea I have the same problem and yea I have that too but I dont know how to fix..

I have a soundblaster audigy 2 zs
I use a optical cable spdif out to my reciever

when I set VLC to playback sound undprocessed through spdif then I get all weird sound when playing ac3 movies DVD or divx xvid or such doesent matter.. like it seems as each speech and each sound is repeated 3 to 5 times.. as if the sound for the surround isnt given out in a pack but in a row or so if this makes sense.. like this:

It does matter. With currently 10947 posts, I can't remember what everyone has asked and what not. And you cannot expect me to check everybodies history with over 40 postings per day. It already takes most of the people who answer questions here about 1 hour a day to server peoples needs. That is 1/24 of my (and other moderators) day. That is a lot of time, which I personnally try to keep as little as possible.

It has been known that at least 0.7.1 and 0.7.2 contained bugs that prevented AC3 S/PDIF from working correctly. Whether all problems or not will be fixed in a next release is unknown. The sheer amount of devices and drivers out there makes it very difficult for a small group like ours to make sure it works for everybody.

Did you try one of the nightly builds yet?
