If you swith to DirectX audio output then you must click on the Save button, then you must exit and restart VLC for the change to take effect.

I've never noticed this on commercial CDs, but then I wouldn't know if their tracks start with no silence or 1-2 seconds of silence before the audio content starts. This continues to be very annoying. Why won't VLC let me quit when it's asking for a login? The main window should at least be closable (QUIT) when it's asking for authentication. And it shouldn't be asking for authentication when I'm trying to RECEIVE a stream whether it's online or off.

I listen to a radio stream that is only streaming part time. When I try to play it before the stream is going, I get the HTTP authentication window asking for my user name and password. WHY? After adding the required configuration, when I start VLC from FoxyTunes in Firefox, it ends up opening two VLC windows instead of one. Why is this?

Playing mp3 files from my hard drive, I hit pause in VLC and the music stopped but seconds later the music continued playing again on its own.

I don't know that this is a Windows-only issue but I have no other OS with VLC to check this on.
