Re: Audio and video go out of sync with HDMI capture

Thanks for your time. It seems that the Fire Stick, connected by HDMI, needed to be rebooted. It was basically the last thing I tried before giving up.

Audio and video go out of sync with HDMI capture

I am using this command to capture audio and video: cvlc v4l2:///dev/video0 --v4l2-chroma=MJPG --input-slave=alsa://hw:2,0 --alsa-audio-device=default --aout=alsa Eventually the audio and video lose synchronization with each other and are even off by several seconds sometimes. I have tried setting c...

Re: Audio stops working with VLC stream after a while

I was forced to just script a restart currently every 4 hours. This has "fixed" the problem but people potentially watching the streams get a rude disconnection now.

Record audio along with the VLC desktop recording feature?

What would the options be to record audio when recording a desktop with VLC? With the desktop recording feature choosing to stream "original audio" results in no sound and no codec generated for the client. WIth desktop recording choosing to stream MP3 results in "late buffer for mux ...

Audio stops working with VLC stream after a while

I am recording video and audio from a HDHomerun device and transcoding it for mobile devices. The reencoding server is an AMD Phenom II 1075T at 3 ghz. It works ok at first but after maybe an hour or so the audio stops working. VLC clients show no audio codec available when it is not working. There ...

Re: Bluray playback troubleshooting information

I could not figure out how to edit the thread so I will add new information here. If you get an error message pertaining to the bluray disc being corrupt then this can be caused by having an invalid makemkv license key. There are 2 or 3 ways to view your bluray disc with makemkv. 1. You can rip the ...

Bluray playback troubleshooting information

I have finally come to understand at the most basic level how Bluray playback is supposed to work. Both of these methods, of course, use VLC for playback. Smart people can stop reading here because you have long since known this. 1. KEYDB/LibAACS This will work if the exact disk key you are using is...

BD AACS key for Star Trek TNG S1D4 missing - just extract one key?

If you check the commonly available keydb.cfg files there is an important omission in the Star Trek library. TNG Season 1 Disc 4 is the only one missing and contains my favorite episode, 11001001. I own the disc and also have it in HD in my Amazon library. I would prefer to watch the disc for maximu...

Re: Playing Blu-ray discs not working

If you go into the keydb.cfg file you can search for the specific disc you have. Alternatively, you could just try several different discs.

Bluray playback has now totally broken on my system

I have last played a disc one month ago and aside from the lack of audio on some discs which I never got any response about everything worked fine. Now all bluray playback fails with: libbluray info: First play: 1, Top menu: 1 HDMV Titles: 12, BD-J Titles: 0, Other: 0 libbluray debug: Disc is using ...

Re: VLC 2.2.1 (Debian) and VLC 3.0.0 (compiled) lack audio with Everest and Mad Max: Fury Road Blurays

I have a log here from VLC 3.0.0. I was forced to take a lot of time to remove lines which were bloating up the file beyond 60000 characters: core debug: processing request item: bluray:///media/cdrom0, node: null, skip: 0 core debug: rebuilding array of current - root Playlist core debug: rebuild d...

VLC 2.2.1 (Debian) and VLC 3.0.0 (compiled) lack audio with Everest and Mad Max: Fury Road Blurays

With 3.0.0 the error I get is: core audio output error: module not functional core decoder error: failed to create audio output The menus and previews playback fine with functional sound. With 2.2.1 there are no sound related errors at all but sound does not play. It also does not play the menus or ...

Re: VLC 3.0: "cannot access bluray:///media/cdrom1"

Thanks for the reply. I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is I fixed the problem by running apt-get build-dep vlc on the computer with the problem. It was not the computer that compiled the program so it needed some dependencies. I also was able to see undefined symbol errors in l...

VLC 3.0: "cannot access bluray:///media/cdrom1"

I have a media computer dedicated to playing bluray discs that runs Devuan Linux with Alsa sound. I have been running into this problem: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/10422 . There are no backports available and all permutations of all workarounds have failed resulting in continuing stutters....

Bluray playback tip: mount first!

I just tried playing a bluray disc for the first time in a while and forgot that it needed to be mounted first. I was getting these cryptic index_parse errors with no other explanation. Only 1 hour of troubleshooting time lost this time. It could have easily been something that I had to replace the ...

VLC 2.2.2 compilation error: LUA related

I am trying to compile 2.2.2 on Debian Jessie 64 bit to improve Bluray playback. The configure script runs ok but I run into errors immediately into the build process. With make the error is: jason@MEDIA:~/vlc-2.2.2$ make -j4 make all-recursive make[1]: Entering directory '/home/jason/vlc-2.2.2' Mak...

Bluray Playback Troubles - 1 of 15 discs working so far

I am trying to play back Bluray discs on Debian Jessie 64 bit with a new LG USB Bluray player. I am using Alsa so I have already increased the disc buffer from 300 to 30000 to solve the "core input error: ES_OUT_SET_(GROUP_)PCR is called too late (pts_delay increased to 300 ms)" problem. S...

Compiling/running help with 1.1.5 and 64 bit Debian Lenny

EDIT: I removed the old post entirely to remove misleading information. The new, hopefully complete post follows. Well I finally built something acceptable. I DID end up using Debian Multimedia in the end. I am not sure that it matters though but I will put the exact steps I took anyway. Add to /et...

Re: Video Streaming Works from GUI but not CLI

I have the same problem as sellabianchi with webcam streaming seemingly not working with the CLI. Here is the command that the GUI gives: :sout=#transcode{vcodec=mp4v,vb=800,width=320,height=240,acodec=none}:duplicate{dst=file{mux=ts,dst=stream},dst=http{mux=ts,dst=:8080/}} :no-sout-rtp-sap :no-sout...
