Re: VLC passing volume control to system

I want the opposite (VLC ignores the volume keys and only the OS processes them) - is this possible ?

All other applications work like this, I'd like VLC to also. I want VLC is just use the standard audio system and do no volume control whatsoever (or any other kind of sound alteration).

Re: VLC V1.1.5

Join the club! Theres a lot of people with the same fault.

The only cure is to downgrade to 1.1.4 and ignore the "New version available" messages.

Keep 1.1.4 around though just in case 1.1.6 is the same (lets hope not)

Re: How to disable VLC volume control?

So I guess the next question will be: When will 1.1.6 be available? (as in, detected by VLC as an update and on the main page)

Re: VLC Ver 1.1.5

I think the problem is that it may work perfectly on the PCs used to buuld VLC, but to properly test it, you need a wide array of testers with varying hardware. That tester pool seems to be us :D We complain and they try and fix it. I'd imagine also that it is quite difficult to fix something that i...

Re: Is it worth it to upgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.1.5?

Try it, you can always go backwards if it doesn't work for you. I'm using 1.1.4 as 1.1.5 refuses to work on both of my PCs (It refuses to close and needs to be killed on one and on the other stops playing video after a random amount of time and then crashes if you try and exit), which is strange for...

How to disable VLC volume control?

When I press the volume keys on my keyboard, VLC alters the volume control.

I can find no way of disabling this functionality in the preferences (I assumed it would be under 'hot keys')

Is it possible?

Re: Video freezes on 1.1.5. Didn't before.

It seems you mis-understood what I meant. I understand nightlies are available to everyone. People can use them at there own risk. However, I assumed that certain versions are considered "stable" and "known-good", and only these versions are offered by the program itself as an up...

Re: Video stops, playback doesn't respond & can't quit.

I've just installed this version on a fresh PC (as in, it has never had VLC installed on it before) and it is freezing on that PC too.

Rolling back to a previous version solved the problem.

Please fix.

Re: Video freezes on 1.1.5. Didn't before.

Removing %appdata%\vlc has no effect.

Going back to a previous version works.

Maybe the next version should have a slightly larger beta test group before being publically released and recommended as an upgrade

Video freezes on 1.1.5. Didn't before.

I let VLC download the latest update, now it freezes a lot whilst playing video. Audio continues. Trying to quit the program stops the audio but freezes the entire app. I have to end-task in task manager. It freezes more quickly when I move the tracking/position bar. The previous version of 1.1.4 wo...
