VLC does not require an external codec or filter.
Open the audio settings in the Preferences and select a suitable output device.

I am referring to a MPC-HC handler in the system registry section for the DVD autoplay feature.

I think it's a problem related to MPC-HC not having a handler for DVD player.

Try to set "Ask me every time" in dvd autoplay section.

There are two ways of organising, the alphanumeric ordering and the natural ordering. VLC uses the alphanumeric ordering, while you prefer the natural one.
I don't know a solution other than renaming the files by inserting the zeros: 01, 02, 03, etc.

There may be a hidden image file in the Downloads folder. Open the Folder Options and select 'Show hidden files' and unselect 'Hide protected files'.
