It is normal behavior after deleting the default audio track. Set the default audio track by the following audio options in mkvtoolnix:

By any tag audio editor. The audio tag editor able to edit mp4 audio files, will edit mp4 video files too.

Have you tried to reset the VLC preferences?
Start menu --> Videolan --> VLC media player - reset preferences and cache files

I noticed a strange behaviour of the CUE playlist. When I select a song from the playlist, the song title becomes the same as the first song. The same happens during playback.
Hope this issue can be fixed in a future release.

The same here. VLC 2.2.4 on Windows XP, only with H264 encoded video files. I reinstalled VLC 2.2.1.
